CAMBRIDGE MEDIEVAL CELTIC STUDIES A new international and interdisciplinary journal published in association with the Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic Department in the University of Cambridge, edited by P. Sims-Williams. The two numbers to appear each year will contain articles and reviews of interest to everyone who would like to keep in touch with current research about the Celtic countries from the fifth century to the fifteenth and about their relations with each other, the rest of the British Isles, and the Continent. Articles in CMCS 1 (now available) and CMCS 2 include: "The Celtic Church: Is This a Valid Concept?" by K. Hughes; "St. Patrick's Reading" by P. Dronke; "Varia Historica" by K. Jackson; "Science and Philosophy in Wales at the time of the Norman Conquest" by A. White; and "Dynastic Warfare and Historical Writing in North Munster, 1276-1350" by A. Nic Ghiollamhaith. K. Hughes's paper is accompanied by maps of the south-east Welsh church, and that by by A. White by plates of a manuscript from Llanbadarn. CMCS is produced to a high standard, with traditional scholarly layout. The annual subscription for 1981 (CMCS 1 and 2) is £ 14 to institutions, reduced to £ 10 to individuals. Orders (together with cheques payable to CMCS) or requests for the prospectus should be sent to: CMCS, James Hall (Publishing) Ltd, 2a Upper Grove Street, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire CV32 5AN, England.
