As in previous'years,' lectures have been arranged with the help of the Director of the Department of Extra-Mural Studies at Aberystwyth, and we thank him for his assistance. Annual Outing. The Society's annual outing took place on Saturday, June 29th, when visits were arranged to Powis Castle and to Montgomery Castle and Church. At Montgomery we were fortunate in having the services of one of our most distinguished members, Mr. J. D. K. Lloyd, who acted as our guide, and members appreciated his full and authorita- tive account of the many interesting features of both the Castle and the Church. Over fifty members joined in the day's excursion. After discussion it was decided by a show of hands to visit Berkeley Castle and the Wildfowl Trust at Slimbridge on Saturday, 21st June, 1969. Transactions. The annual volume of Transactions was distributed to members in April, 350 copies being printed. Thirty-one copies remain on hand. It is regretted that some contributions have been held over this year, but we hope that these will appear in future issues. In the meantime, we thank all our contributors for making their work available to our members. Welsh Church Acts Fund. Unfortunately the Society is faced with steeply rising costs in the production of its annual Volume of Transactions, with the result that the Committee has had to consider (1) an increase in the annual subscriptions, and (2) making an appeal to the Welsh Church Fund Committee for financial assistance. The cost of producing a Volume of the Transactions is now 15/- per copy, as against an individual member's subscription of 12/6d. With regard to (1) this step was considered at the Meeting, when the Treasurer made his statement and the decisions of the meeting appear below (Treasurer's Report). It was reported that the second step, however, had already been taken, and an application had been made to the Welsh Church Fund Committee for the grant of £ 100. In making this application two points in particular had been stressed (a) The very considerable increase in the costs of printing and illus- trating the Transactions (b) The earnest desire of the Committee to maintain regular annual publication of the volume, also to maintain its standards of production. The Society can point with justifiable pride to the fact that its Tran- sactions have appeared annually and regularly since 1931, and that even during the difficult War years they continued to appear. This, we believe, is a record equalled by few among county societies in the British Isles, and we feel that there would be general regret if this achievement could not be maintained. Committee & Officers. With the death of Mr. Emlyn Jones the Society lost a valuable member of its Committee and its Hon. Auditor. The Committee took the step of inviting Mr. Ffransis Payne, M.A., F.S.A., of the Welsh Folk Museum, St. Fagans, to fill the vacancy on the Com-
