The sad, but not unexpected, news of the death of our revered Bishop reaching us as this number was already in type, can only be briefly recorded in this issue. It is too soon to estimate our loss, too soon to gather up usefully the teaching, or to reckon the gains of his long and strenuous Episcopate. Every clergyman in the Diocese has lost a personal friend, no less than a Father in God ; every Parish a Chief Pastor, carefully informed of its special needs, and personally caring for its welfare ; the Church in Wales a wise and prudent administrator; Welsh national life a broad-minded, sym¬ pathetic, and truly patriotic counsellor; and the Church of Christ a Ruler of high character, whose memory will be an abiding possession. " Remember them which had the rule " over you, which spake unto you the " Word of God, and considering the " issue of their life, imitate their faith."
