We regret to have to announce that the National Home Reading Union has had to discontinue the publication of the Readers' Review. F. W- Bain. We are enabled to print in this number an article on the literary work of Mr. F. W. Bain. This article originally appeared in the " Bulletin " of Messrs. Methuen and Co., and it is owing to their courteous permission that we are enabled to reproduce it here. It is noteworthy that Mr. Bain's 'trans¬ lations' were for a long time accepted as genuine and they were actually catalog¬ ued as such in the Oriental Section of the British Museum Library. Special Bibliographies. The first part of a special bibliography of David Jones of Llangan (for which Mr. Ifano Jones, librarian in charge of the Wrelsh Department is responsible) ap¬ pears in this issue of the Review. The concluding portion will appear in a subsequent number. Reading Circle Notes. Cathays Ruskin Circle. The Ruskin Circle at Cathays meets fortnightly on Thursdays at 8 p.m. The Circle is at present reading "The Nature of Gothic," together with extracts from various other works on architecture. The next meeting will be held on Thurs¬ day, December 15th. * * * * Dickens Circle. In response to repeated requests, a Dickens Reading Circle has been formed at the Cathays Branch Library, and Mr. Edward Thorburn has kindly consented to become its leader. The Circle meets every week on alternate Mondays and Thursdays, at 8 p.m. The next meeting will take place on Thursday, Dec. 8th, when the reading of Martin Chuzzlewit will be continued. * * * * Roath Shakespeare Circle. The Roath Circle has read " The Two Gentlemen of Verona," and is now read¬ ing "Othello." Meetings are held on alternate Fridays at 7.45 p.m., the next meeting being on December 16th.
